In the year 1976nearly 150 historical romance novels which were actually in the form of paperback originals, were published, selling a hopping 40 million copies within first few months of its publication.The success of these romantic novels prompted a new style of writing romance though from time to time changes have been made to suit according to the taste of the readers.
